Privacy Policy – PageLens SEO Chrome Extension

PageLens SEO analyzes on-page SEO elements of the webpage you are currently viewing. All analysis is performed locally within your browser, and only when you explicitly open the extension.

What We Collect

Only if you explicitly opt in, PageLens collects anonymous usage events describing how the extension itself is used:

• Which tabs you open in the extension (for example “Headings” or “Links”)
• Which features you use (for example keyword search or link highlighting)
• Counts and yes/no flags about an analysis, such as the number of H1 tags found and whether a meta description was present
• A randomly generated identifier stored on your device, and the extension version

Analytics are off by default. You are asked once, on first run, and nothing is transmitted unless you choose “Allow”.

What We Never Collect

• The addresses (URLs) of pages you analyse
• Page titles, descriptions, headings, link addresses, or any other page content
• Your browsing history
• Your name, email address, or any other identifying information
• Your IP address is not stored

Website Content Access

PageLens SEO temporarily reads webpage content (such as titles, meta tags, headings, links, images, and technical signals) only to display SEO insights to you. That content:

• Is processed locally in your browser
• Is not stored
• Is never transmitted to any external server
• Is not shared with third parties

The analysis itself never leaves your machine. The optional analytics described above carry no page content of any kind.

Your Choice

• Analytics are off by default; you are asked once, on first run.
• If you decline, no data ever leaves your device.
• You can turn analytics on or off at any time using the Analytics toggle in the extension’s sidebar. Turning it off also deletes any events still queued on your device that had not yet been sent.

Remote Code & Third-Party Services

PageLens SEO does not use:

• Remote or externally hosted code — all scripts are bundled inside the extension package
• Third-party analytics providers, advertising networks, or tracking services

If you opt in, anonymous usage events are sent to a Cloudflare Worker operated by the extension’s developer. This is a first-party endpoint; no third party receives your data.

Storage and Retention

Opted-in events are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database controlled by the developer and are used solely to decide which features to build next. They are not sold, shared, or used for advertising.

Data Sharing

PageLens SEO does not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties for any purpose.

Data Security

The extension transmits nothing unless you have opted in, and what it does transmit is limited to anonymous counts and fixed feature names — it contains no personal information and no page content. Data is sent over HTTPS.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
